Congestion Charging

February 2012,

Following a routine inspection by HM Revenue and Customs we have been advised that we can no longer treat the London Congestion charge as a disbursement. This means that, as from 1st March, VAT will be charged at the 20% standard rate on the £10.50 charge for direct deliveries to central London, and the £1 charge for Overnight deliveries. This extra VAT can be reclaimed by customers in the normal way.

Carbon Neutral

June 2014,

We are proud to announce that, on 1st June the company was awarded carbon neutral status by the Carbon Neutral Company. Our emissions and footprint were calculated for 2013 and fully offset using a wind farm project in Southern India.

Our aim is to reduce our impact on the environment by 5% every year whilst continuing to grow the business.

Jordan Update

August 2013,

With the championship now past the halfway stage and eight out of twelve rounds completed - time for an update on Jordans season so far.

Superstock 600 is one of the most competitive race series in the UK, being used as a stepping stone to full superbike racing, and by the big teams looking for the next Shakey Burns. The race commentators refer to the riders in this series as "axe murderers" - a fair reflection of the caring attitude displayed as 30 plus bikes head flat out into the first corner.

Jordan has qualified for all but one of the races so far, the exception being at Knockhill on June 16th. This is one of the few race meetings held in Scotland and attracts all the local racers who only ever ride at Knockhill. The entrance for the event swells to more than 50, all competing for the 30 race places available. Having never ridden this circuit before Jordan failed to make the qualifying lap time and drove 600 miles to spectate.

The brief for this season has always been for Jordan to stay on the bike, finish each race and learn the tracks. This has been achieved, with a 21st place finish at Oulton Park on August 11th being his best result so far.

With good luck and good weather Jordan can maintain this progress and hopefully score his first championship points over the four remaining races.

BSB Superstock 600

January 2013,

We are delighted to announce that, following a successful forth year of racing, our teenage phenomenon Jordan Gilbert has secured a place in the Team Haribo Starmix BSB Superstock 600 squad for the 2013 season.

2012 saw him graduate from the Aprillia 125cc series to the 650cc Suzuki Mini Twins where he claimed an overall fifth place in the championship along with setting a new lap record at Oulton Park.

This talent and ability, whilst still only 16 years old, was recognised in September when he was invited to test the new Triumph 675R with Team Haribo. Yet again Jordan surpassed all expectations, securing his team place against much older and more experienced competition.

We are proud to support Jordan on his rise to the top and wish him every success for the coming season.

Michelin Minitwins

March 2012,

Jordan’s 3rd and final season in the BMCRC Superteens  (Aprilia 125cc) race championship saw him finish in a highly creditable second position – beaten only by a much smaller and lighter opponent. Congratulations Jordan.

The 2012 season sees a change in both motorcycle and championship as he moves up to the Michelin Minitwins. This class uses modified Suzuki SV650 bikes with both adults and junior riders on the grid.

Deadline are delighted to support both Jordan (#24) and brother Ben (#32) for the 2012 season where the Gilbert brothers will be running as a team. They have recently returned from a week’s testing at the Almeria circuit, setting up and getting used to the new machinery – posting some very competitive lap times in the Spanish sunshine.

You can see them on Eurosport TV on May 13th when the Minitwins class features in the World Superbike meeting at Donnington Park.
